Casper Hamster
I am Casper Hamster, an MSc Robotics student joining ELCA for my Master’s thesis. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente, after which I moved to Delft to take part in Project MARCH, a student team working on the development of powered exoskeletons. I stuck around to start my Master’s in Robotics at Delft University of Technology.
In my free time, I enjoy making music, especially playing the guitar, as well as staying active through sports. I also love playing board games, solving puzzles and reading books. My technical interests are in mechatronics, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and FPGA-based systems. During my Master’s thesis, I am particularly exploring the intersection of AI and hardware acceleration in my project “CartPole control using reinforcement learning on FPGA”, where I work on implementing learning-based control algorithms on reconfigurable hardware.
I am very thankful to my supervising professor and PhD mentor, Chang Gao and Zitao Liang, for their guidance and for giving me the opportunity to work on this exciting project.
